As a voluntary not for profit with deep roots in the community, FUNAFLOAT is soon to launch a fun and free boat trip experience on our Dublin waterways.

Catering specifically for disabled and mobility challenged clients, our team are working closely with disability support organisations, and other local groups to deliver a unique bluewater experience on Dublin's Grand Canal.

WHY FUNAFLOAT?

Our mission is to deliver a fun and engaging outdoor experience for individuals and groups who till now were denied an easily accessible means of getting out on the water. In this we are mindful of overall activation priorities as set out in the National Outdoor Recreational strategy.

In addition to the immediate physical experience, there are long-term therapeutic and mental health benefits associated with on the water activity that are well known and supported by independent evidence.

FUNAFLOAT BOAT

Our Wheelboat Mark III, benefitting from lightweight but strong aluminium construction, also features an innovative drop down bow, providing easy access for wheelchair users and other mobility challenged clients.  To enhance safety, the craft also features four reinforced floatation tanks built into the floor.

FUNAFLOAT VOLUNTEERS

As a voluntary organisation, we have openings for boat crew (novice and experienced) and also for board members with expertise in areas including Finance & Funding, Training, Marketing & Social media.

Boat crew will be trained to Irish Sailing National Powerboat Certificate Level.
